Accessibility Statement:
Our mission at Telehippo is to provide booking systems to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability. We are committed to treating people with disabilities in a way that respects their dignity and independence. We will meet the accessibility needs of people with disabilities in a respectful, timely, and effective manner.
We will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and meeting accessibility requirements under Ontario’s accessibility laws.
Compliance
To fulfill AODA, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0) at the AA level.
Our process:
- We will regularly audit our software for accessibility annually.
- We will constantly monitor https://achecker.ca/checker/index.php to market use we meet the compliance requirements.
- All Telehippo staff will be trained for accessibility.
- All client-side features will go through WCAG 2.0 AA level assessment.
- All internal and external developers will be trained and vetted based on proficiency in accessibility.
Definition of Terms:
AODA – Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005
Accessible formats: Formats that are an alternative to standard print and are accessible to people with disabilities. Accessible formats may include large print, Braille, and audio electronic formats such as DVDs and CDs. When an alternative format is requested, we will work with the person with a disability to understand the specific need and make all reasonable efforts to meet their needs
Barrier: As defined by the AODA, this means anything that prevents a person with a disability from fully participating in all aspects of society because of a disability. This includes physical barriers, architectural barriers, information or communications barriers, attitudinal barriers, technological barriers, and policies or practices.
Disability: As defined by the AODA and the Ontario Human Rights Code, means:
- any degree of physical disability, infirmity, malformation, or disfigurement that is caused by bodily injury, birth defect, or illness,
- a condition of mental impairment or a developmental disability,
- a learning disability or a dysfunction in one or more of the processes involved in understanding or using symbols or spoken language,
- a mental disorder, or
- an injury or disability for which benefits were claimed or received under the insurance plan established under the Ontario Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997
